Create a New Wallet
Start your illumineX journey by creating a fresh illumineX wallet.
When first loading the illumineX Wallet application, you will see an example wallet and be prompted to create or import a wallet.
Creating a new wallet
Click "Create wallet" in the upper right corner of the interface
Name your wallet
Check the box to “Download recovery phrase” if you wish to download a text file of your seed phrase (recommended). You can also choose to copy the seed phrase to your clipboard (You do NOT need to reveal your seed phrase to copy it), or write down the seed phrase (on pen and paper) by clicking “Show seed” to reveal it. WARNING: Ensure you have your seed phrase securely stored. Crypto-assets are entirely self-custodial and if you misplace or lose your seed phrase you will lose control of your assets. If this happens, there are no account recovery options. Store your seed phrase offline and securely.
Once ready, click the “Create wallet” or “Create wallet + Download seed phrase” (If you chose to do so) button under the seed phrase.
Success
You've now generated your new wallet and private account! Each wallet you create acts as a container that is able to hold multiple private accounts. You can see the name of your wallet and switch between wallets (if you have multiple) from the upper right corner of the interface. Every wallet you create will have its own unique generated avatar, to make it easy to distinguish between your wallets. To create another wallet, simply repeat the same steps again. To create additional private accounts within your wallet, follow the guide to Create a new account.
illumineX works only with wallets that have been generated using illlumineX. For example, a wallet created in MetaMask CANNOT be imported into illumineX.
Further Info
When using the web app, clearing your browser data will delete your encrypted private key and you will have to re-enter your recovery phrase to access your wallet. Recovery phrases generated in illumineX have 12 words.
