Deposit funds to your illumineX wallet

When depositing cryptocurrencies to your illumineX wallet they are transferred to the illumineX Privacy Layer and become private tokens by default. All transactions happening within your illumineX wallet, i.e. Private Transfers between illumineX accounts are private and untraceable to the public. They are also gas-less, meaning that you do not need a separate gas token for your transactions, because the gas fee is paid in the asset being transacted.

Keep in mind that all assets in your illumineX wallet can only be transferred within the illumineX Privacy Layer, and sending any assets directly to e.g. a Bitcoin or Ethereum address is NOT possible. In order to use any assets outside of the illumineX wallet, e.g. on the Bitcoin blockchain, you first need to Withdraw the asset back to the relevant blockchain. Withdrawing any asset back to its blockchain is also private, meaning it does not leave any public trace between the depositing wallet address and the withdrawing wallet address.

Depositing crypto-assets

1. Click “Deposit” either on the home page of your wallet or from the top navigation bar

2. Select the account (“ix” address) you want to deposit the asset to

3. Select any supported asset to deposit and input the amount to deposit. Keep in mind different assets have different minimum deposit amounts and deposit fees. The deposit fee is displayed below the asset selection menu.

4. Click the “Deposit” button if you are depositing BTC, or the “Connect” button if you are depositing another asset (EVM assets).

If you are depositing BTC:

You will get directed to the “Depositing BTC” page. Follow the instructions on this page, send the exact amount that is displayed under “Amount to send” to the BTC address that is displayed under “To this address”. You can choose to either copy the BTC address and input it in your Bitcoin wallet, or you can scan the QR code if your Bitcoin wallet supports it. Note that you need to either have a third-party Bitcoin wallet to initiate this transfer, or withdraw directly from a centralized exchange.

If you are depositing ETH or another EVM-asset:

You will get prompted to connect a third-party EVM wallet to proceed with the deposit

Then click the “Deposit” button if you are depositing BTC, or the “Connect” button if you are depositing another asset.

Success

The deposit has completed and you can see your assets in your private account. The deposited assets are by default private and will stay that way as long as they are on the illumineX Privacy Layer.
